Grandvalira Resorts' stations will expand the available skiable kilometers starting this Saturday, December 16. The snowfall from yesterday and this morning, which has left snow depths ranging from 15 to 45 centimeters of fresh snow in different parts of the domains, along with the intense work of the ground teams, will allow connecting all sectors of the stations from this Saturday. On one hand, Grandvalira will have skiable connection between all sectors, from Pas de la Casa to Canillo, passing through Grau Roig, Encamp, Soldeu, and El Tarter. Thus, the skiable area that the station plans to offer is 82 connected kilometers and will also have a total of 43 operational facilities.
In turn, this Saturday, Pal Arinsal will unveil the new detachable six-seater Port Negre chairlift in Arinsal, the main novelty of the season. The new Doppelmayr lift, replacing the previous fixed 4-seater Port Negre chairlift, is longer, and its starting point is lower. Specifically, it is taken from just in front of the El Niu restaurant. The new Port Negre chairlift has a transport capacity of about 2,400 people per hour, features 57 vehicles, and reaches an altitude of 2,493 meters. The installation of this device represents the first step towards the skiable connection between the two sectors of the La Massana station, which will be operational from the winter of 2024-2025. At the same time, starting this Saturday, Pal Arinsal will have a total of 70% of open slopes and 80% of operational lifts, including the cable car that connects both sectors.
Finally, Ordino Arcalís, which started the season on November 24th, will expand the skiable area to 85% of open slopes and 70% of operational lifts, also starting this same Saturday.
