SKI MOUNTAINEERING ROUTES OUTSIDE OF THE RESORT OPENING HOURS

  • From 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm uphill and downhill routes allowed within the resort.

 

  • From 10:00 pm to 7:00 am it is not permitted to undertake ski mountaineering skiing, either uphill or downhill, within the skiable areas of the resort.

 

  • From 7:00 am to 9:00 am, before resort opening hours, it is permitted to practice ski mountaineering throughout the area, except for days when there has been a snowfall.

Itinerari Pal Sector Routes – difficulty: blue, length: 3,820 m, slope: 578 m.

 

La Carbonera car park → El Beç blue trail → La Planell green trail → La Serra blue trail → Pla de la Cot → blue/red track La Serra → Pic del Cubil (2358 m), by slopes.. This route can also be started from the green track El Planell, next to the building La Caubella (1,900m) – difficulty: blue, length: 3,230m, altitude: 458m, by slopes.

On the days when the station organises activities and dinners at the Pla de la Cot restaurant, the blue track La Serra (the section that goes from the restaurant to the bottom of the slopes) and the green track El Planell, will be accessible for Ski Mountaineering for the duration of the activities.

Pal sector routes (Port Negre)  Difficulty: red, length: 5.000 m, elevation gain: 950 m

Parking del Crest/ take the Josep Serra  cable car (1.550 m) → blue track Les Marrades → green track El Cortal → blue track Les Fonts → blue track La Solana → blue track Port Vell → Port Negre (2.500 m). By tracks.

This route can also be started from the green track El Cortal, a the top of  l’Edifici Comallemple and next to Restaurant Refugi (1.938 m)- difficulty: red, length: 3.000 m, elevation gain: 562 m. By tracks.

General code of conduct for ski mountaineering within the ski areas

  1. You may only practice ski mountaineering along the marked tracks and the authorized resort station.
  2. Never use a closed track. All warnings and notices regarding tracks must be respected.
  3. It is not permitted to carry dogs on the ski slopes nor to the marked routes away from the slopes.
  4. Pedestrians and snowshoe practitioners are not permitted to walk along the slopes and ski mountaineering trails. There are specific prepared circuits and/or trails authorized for this practice.
  5. Skiing is not allowed along climbing circuits or marked off tracks.

Specific code of conduct for ski mountaineering at night

  • Always have a front light sufficient to provide good visibility and use reflective accessories in order to see and, above all, be seen.
  • It is compulsory to follow the routes designated for night usage on both the ascent AND the descent.
  • Always take lower the side of the track in order not to damage the slopes and respect the work being carried out by the night crew drivers.
  • It’s necessary to reduce your downhill speed at night as there may be working lifts and bikes running.
  • You are required to check the warnings and notices regarding weather conditions and the risk of avalanche.
